I am taking an A Level English Language course, and for my coursework, I have to devise and carryout a Language Investigation. I have chosen to investigate the relationship bewteen certain words and their meanings and definitions for different people. I am trying to determine firstly whether people have common definitions and understandings of certain words and phrases which often generate more complex thinking and emotion. Secondarily, I am also investigating the impact of gender and age on the the definitions and meanings given. The words and phrases I have chosen are:
Love
In Love
Yellow
Happy
Faith
Dream
If you are willing to share your own definition of these words, I would be very grateful.

I’m doing an essay for my english language coursework and my teachers and the internet have been no help when it comes to this area-lexis. I understand the rest but I know little beyond lexical fields. Please can someone tell me some more things within lexis (preferably eng lang a level people) and quickly as essay is due soon!

i need to know all of the terminology for A level English literature and language. Websites would be best however names of books would also be useful.

a have articles from the mirror, the time, the sun and the guardian concering 9/11. but my idea atm (comparing the two styles of newspapers) will apparently not get me a grade. can someone think of another idea using these articles? or better still - send me their investigation sorry… i am struggling!!

I have to describe a chocolate brownie. You need to use the five scences, use good range of vocabulary. I am at level 6 so needs to be very good. Just describe the brownie for me in detail using the 5 scences.
