How do you think babies learn?! Hint: not from books.

It all depends how much you interact with your mum whether you do it daily for a year or two or if you stop after a few months. You need to be committed.

what you would learn is idiomatic english. You would learn local slang and the rudimentary basics of communication but you wouldnt learn much structural english.
Thatg said, learning any language is a challenge worth facing. Yourt mother will find that she gets aslong better if she speaks even a little english than none at all. Help her learn. By doing so you will improve your language skills. But, never forget your mother tongue. It maight make the difference in getting a job some day.
ESL night classes will help too.
English is one of the hardest languages to learn because it is so filled with slang and idioms. But she can do it and you can and should help
