Learn English Software

i have a facebook buddie and she’s from Taiwan, but she was supposed to teach me some more Mandarin chinese too. I am going to have to up the anty with it all.

I have recently purchased Acer notebook with russian language. I dont know russian and want the software to work in English. How do i do that? Pls help.

The language in iTunes itself is in the orrect language (English) but when the Update Software run, it is in Russian or something. Please help.

i am a student in unoversity and i want to develop a software that translates from english language to amharic language(ethiopian national language) just to develop a dictionary.if some one need s to know the meaning of Coffee then he/she types that word then press the provided button ,it gives the meaing of that word in amharic .
so what shall i do ?
do i need tables that contain thousands of words?
and what programing language is better to do this? c,c++, vb,vb.net or what..?

most software now translates a foreign word (text) into English. i need to know if there is such a software that identifies a sound file whether it’s French or Spanish then translates it to English even only in text form.

When given a list of languages to choose from, is anyone else getting rather irritated with the fact that when you scroll down to the English option, there is only ‘United States’ in parenthesis after the word English ?

If this is going to be the only option available for the English language when using software, shouldn’t it really read as follows:-?

English (United States or broken English)
I actually find ebonics less offensive than so called United States English which basically is English but with a I-can’t-be-arsed-to-spell-it-properly ethos or words spelt purely phonetically but without the various influences of other modern and old languages that have evolved words like ‘colour’ into the words they are today !

For instance when I send an e-mail in English language to a country where the recepient do not know the English language,the system should be in a position to translate automitically in the language chosen

Looking for an language software programme that people can download to practice English, Chinese, etc. Are there any services in Japan? How much do they cost?

If you know any software which has the above mentioned properties then please help me get it. I need it desperately.
